These classic peanut butter cookies are quick to make in the air fryer, offering a crispy exterior with a soft, chewy center.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, and egg. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Shape the Cookies:
    • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined plate or tray.
    • Using a fork, press down on each ball to create a crisscross pattern, flattening the cookies to about ½ inch thick.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
  4. Air Fry the Cookies:
    • Place a parchment paper liner in the air fryer basket. Arrange the cookies in a single layer, ensuring they are about 1 inch apart. You may need to cook them in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
    • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  5. Cool and Serve:
    • Carefully remove the cookies from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes. They will firm up as they cool.
    • Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Storage: Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Natural Peanut Butter: If using natural peanut butter, ensure it’s well-stirred to incorporate the oils, as this can affect the cookie’s texture.
  • Variations: For added texture, consider using crunchy peanut butter or mixing in chocolate chips.
