Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 12 thin slices of deli ham
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cheese and Ham:
Wrap each mozzarella stick in a slice of ham, ensuring the cheese is fully covered. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  2. Prepare Breading Stations:
In one bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  3. Bread the Sticks:
Dip each ham-wrapped mozzarella stick into the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to ensure an even coating.
  4. Chill the Sticks:
Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for 30–60 minutes to prevent cheese from oozing during baking.
  5. Bake:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the sticks with cooking spray. Bake for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown.
  6. Serve:
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-dip the sticks in the egg and breadcrumb mixture.
  • You can use turkey ham or other deli meat as a substitute.
  • Adjust seasonings to taste for the breadcrumb coating.
