This Caprese Christmas Wreath is a simple and festive appetizer that combines the classic flavors of Caprese salad—fresh mozzarella, sweet cherry tomatoes, fragrant basil, and tangy balsamic glaze. Arrange it in the shape of a holiday wreath for a stunning and delicious centerpiece that’s perfect for any holiday gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • 12 oz cherry or grape tomatoes
  • Fresh basil leaves (about 20–30, depending on size)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Drain the mozzarella balls and pat them dry with a paper towel. Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
  2. Assemble the wreath: On a large circular platter, arrange the basil leaves in a wreath-like circle as the base. Alternate placing mozzarella balls and cherry tomatoes on top of the basil leaves.
  3. Drizzle and season: Drizzle olive oil evenly over the arrangement. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  4. Add balsamic glaze: Using a spoon or bottle, drizzle balsamic glaze over the wreath for added flavor and visual appeal.
  5. Garnish: Tuck a few rosemary sprigs into the wreath for extra greenery and a festive look.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with toothpicks or a fork for easy eating.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other garnishes like sliced olives or roasted red peppers for variation.
  • If preparing ahead, assemble the wreath and store it in the fridge, but add the balsamic glaze just before serving to avoid sogginess.
