  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

For the Cream Layer:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granola or crushed graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Apple Layer:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until apples soften.
    • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 more minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Prepare the Cream Layer:
    • In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the Dessert Cups:
    • Add a layer of granola or crushed graham crackers to the bottom of each dessert cup.
    • Spoon a layer of the cooked apple mixture on top.
    • Add a dollop of whipped cream.
    • Drizzle with caramel sauce.
    • Repeat the layers as desired, ending with whipped cream and a final drizzle of caramel sauce.
  4. Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate the assembled cups for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve chilled.
