Chocolate Blossom Cookies are soft, fudgy chocolate cookies topped with a Hershey’s Kiss, offering a delightful twist on the classic peanut butter blossom. They’re perfect for holidays, special occasions, or whenever you’re craving a chocolate treat.

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until a soft dough forms.
  6. Chill Dough (Optional): If the dough is too soft to handle, cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to make it easier to roll.
  7. Shape Cookies: Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
  8. Bake: Place the sugar-coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 7-9 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still soft.
  9. Add Hershey’s Kisses: Immediately upon removing the cookies from the oven, gently press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. The cookie may crack slightly around the edges, which is normal.
  10. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
