These festive Christmas Pretzel Rods are a delightful holiday treat! Crunchy pretzel sticks are dipped in smooth, melted chocolate and decorated with colorful sprinkles or drizzles of contrasting chocolate. They’re easy to make, fun for kids, and perfect for holiday parties or gift-giving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 pretzel rods
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or candy melts
  • 1 cup milk or dark chocolate chips or candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for thinning chocolate)
  • Assorted Christmas sprinkles, candy decorations, or colored sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Workstation: Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Set aside.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the white chocolate and milk/dark chocolate. Heat in 20-30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth. Add coconut oil if needed for a thinner consistency.
  3. Dip the Pretzel Rods: Hold a pretzel rod and dip it into one type of melted chocolate, covering about ¾ of the rod. Tap gently to remove excess chocolate.
  4. Decorate: Immediately sprinkle the dipped portion with Christmas sprinkles or drizzle with the contrasting melted chocolate.
  5. Cool and Harden: Place the decorated pretzel rod on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pretzel rods. Allow them to set at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for faster hardening.
  6. Serve or Package: Once fully set, store in an airtight container or package them as gifts.

Notes

  • Use festive cellophane bags and ribbons to package these treats for gifting.
  • Swap out the sprinkles for different themes if making for other holidays or events.
  • To avoid melting in warm environments, store the pretzel rods in a cool place.
