Ingredients

Scale
For the Dough:
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
For the Filling:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
For the Frosting:
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
    • Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
    • Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon until combined.
    • Roll out the dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the surface.
    • Sprinkle crushed cookies on top.
  3. Shape the Rolls:
    • Roll the dough tightly into a log, starting from the long edge.
    • Slice into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Bake:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Make the Frosting:
    • In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy.
    • Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
    • Fold in crushed cookies.
  6. Assemble:
    • Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra gooey rolls, add a drizzle of heavy cream over the rolls before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving for the best texture.
