Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it’s browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  • Combine Ingredients in Slow Cooker: Transfer the cooked ground beef to a slow cooker. Add the beef broth, tomato sauce, ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, brown sugar, and onion powder. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Slow Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 1½ to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve: Once cooked, give it one last stir. Serve the chili over hot dogs, and top with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheddar cheese, diced onions, or jalapeños.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper or additional chili powder.
  • This chili can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, making it perfect for leftovers.
