This Easy Baked Brie in Puff Pastry is a show-stopping appetizer that’s simple to make and perfect for any gathering. Gooey, melted brie encased in golden, flaky puff pastry creates an elegant treat. Pair it with crackers, fruit, or a drizzle of honey for a stunning presentation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (8–12 ounces)
  • 3 tablespoons jam or preserves (e.g., raspberry, apricot, or fig)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, e.g., pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Crackers, bread slices, or fresh fruit, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to remove creases.
  3. Assemble: Place the brie in the center of the pastry. Top the brie with the jam and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. Fold the pastry over the brie, trimming any excess dough, and seal the edges tightly.
  4. Egg Wash: Brush the pastry with the beaten egg to ensure a golden finish.
  5. Bake: Place the wrapped brie onto the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the baked brie to cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers, bread, or fresh fruit.

Notes

  1. Feel free to experiment with different jam flavors for a unique twist.
  2. If using nuts, lightly toast them for added flavor.
  3. To prevent overflow, slightly trim the rind on top of the brie before adding toppings.
