This recipe combines the natural nutty flavor of roasted Brussels sprouts with a sweet and tangy honey glaze. Perfect as a side dish for any meal, these sprouts are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. A crowd-pleaser for weeknight dinners or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Prepare Brussels Sprouts: Place the halved Brussels sprouts in a large bowl. Add olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Roast: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the baking sheet. Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  4. Make the Glaze: While the sprouts are roasting, mix the honey and balsamic vinegar in a small bowl.
  5. Glaze the Sprouts: Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven. Drizzle the honey glaze over them and toss gently to coat.
  6. Optional Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped nuts for extra crunch. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey glaze.
  • To ensure even cooking, make sure the Brussels sprouts are similar in size.
  • This dish pairs well with roasted chicken or baked salmon.
