Mountain Dew Biscuits are a delightful twist on traditional biscuits, incorporating the citrusy sweetness of Mountain Dew to create a soft, flaky, and slightly sweet treat. This recipe is simple and requires just a few ingredients, making it perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose baking mix (such as Bisquick)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup Mountain Dew
  • ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Prepare Dough: In a medium bowl, combine the baking mix, sour cream, and Mountain Dew. Stir until well combined, ensuring there are no dry pockets of baking mix remaining. The dough will be sticky.
  • Add Butter to Baking Dish: Pour half of the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, tilting the dish to evenly coat the bottom.
  • Portion Dough: Using an ice cream scoop or large spoon, drop equal-sized portions of the dough into the baking dish on top of the melted butter.
  • Top with Remaining Butter: Pour the remaining melted butter over the tops of the biscuits.
  • Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  • Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm. These biscuits pair wonderfully with butter, honey, or your favorite jam.

Notes

  • Alternative Sodas: While this recipe uses Mountain Dew, other lemon-lime sodas like 7-Up or Sprite can be substituted to achieve a similar flavor and texture.
