This Roasted Garlic, Chicken & Herb White Pizza is a delicious twist on the classic white pizza. Featuring creamy garlic sauce, tender grilled chicken, fresh herbs, and melted cheese on a crisp crust, it’s perfect for a family dinner or casual gathering.

For the Roasted Garlic:

  • 1 whole garlic bulb
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Pizza:

  • 1 pre-made pizza crust or homemade pizza dough (12-inch)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing the crust)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

For the White Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Roasted Garlic:
    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Slice off the top of the garlic bulb to expose the cloves. Drizzle with olive oil, wrap in aluminum foil, and roast for 30-40 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and caramelized. Let cool and squeeze the garlic cloves out of their skins.
  2. Make the White Sauce:
    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
    • Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring no lumps remain. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
    • Stir in roasted garlic cloves and grated Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Pizza:
    • Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
    • Roll out the pizza dough or prepare the pre-made crust on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
    • Spread the white sauce evenly over the crust.
    • Top with cooked chicken, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. Drop small dollops of ricotta cheese over the pizza.
    • Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  4. Bake the Pizza:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  5. Finish and Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley and basil. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, try adding a sprinkle of smoked paprika to the chicken.
  • You can use store-bought roasted garlic to save time.
