This creamy and garlicky shrimp scampi pasta bake takes the classic shrimp scampi flavors and transforms them into a baked pasta dish! Juicy shrimp are sautéed in a buttery garlic sauce, tossed with pasta in a creamy, cheesy sauce, and baked until golden and bubbly.

For the Pasta & Shrimp:

  • 12 oz linguine or penne pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled & deveined)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • ½ cup white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

For the Creamy Cheese Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream (or half & half)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For Topping:

  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp butter (melted)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook pasta until al dente (about 1-2 minutes less than package instructions). Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Shrimp

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2 minutes per side until pink.
  4. Pour in white wine (or broth) and lemon juice. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat. Set aside.

Step 3: Make the Cheese Sauce

  1. In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and chicken broth. Cook until thickened (about 3 minutes).
  4. Stir in mozzarella, parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.

Step 4: Assemble the Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a greased baking dish, combine cooked pasta, shrimp, and cheese sauce. Mix well.
  3. Top with mozzarella, parmesan, and breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter.

Step 5: Bake & Serve

  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra lemon juice.
  3. Serve hot and enjoy!
