Tiger Sauce is a creamy and mildly spicy condiment, traditionally made with mayonnaise, horseradish, garlic, and lemon juice. It’s commonly used as a dipping sauce or sandwich spread, especially with roast beef or pit beef sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup prepared horseradish
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, prepared horseradish, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and well combined.
  3. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, and mix again.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Stir the sauce before serving.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, consider substituting half of the mayonnaise with sour cream.
  • Adjust the amount of horseradish to control the heat level; more horseradish will yield a spicier sauce.
  • This sauce pairs excellently with roast beef sandwiches, grilled meats, seafood, and as a dipping sauce for fried appetizers.

Storage: Store the Tiger Sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Stir well before each use.
